Our story
RT Field Services was founded by Roland Naidoo, a diesel mechanic with 27 years of hands-on experience working on heavy-duty trucks. After nearly three decades in workshops and out on the road repairing trucks for other companies and fleet operators, Roland set out on his own to build a truck repair service run the way he always believed one should be — technically sound, honest about what a truck actually needs, and quick to respond when a driver or fleet manager is stuck.
Our mission
To keep trucks on the road and out of the workshop as much as possible, by bringing skilled diesel mechanic expertise directly to where the truck is — a yard, a route stop, or the roadside — and by repairing problems properly the first time.
Working with fleets
RT Field Services works with fleet managers as an ongoing service partner, not a once-off callout — scheduled maintenance across the fleet, plus rapid-response call-outs when a truck goes down mid-route. For fleet clients in particular, we follow up after every job to confirm the fix has held and flag anything else worth watching.

Call Logged
You call, WhatsApp, or message us with the truck's location and the fault as you understand it.

Technician Dispatched
The nearest available technician is sent out in the mobile service vehicle, or the job is scheduled for the workshop if that's the better fit.

On-Site Diagnosis
The fault is properly diagnosed before any work starts — no guessing, no unnecessary parts.

Quote & Approval
You're told what's wrong and what it will cost before we proceed, in plain language.

Repair Carried Out
The repair is completed on-site where possible, or the job is taken back to the workshop for bigger work like an overhaul.

Quality Check & Sign-Off
The work is checked before the truck is handed back, so it leaves right the first time.

Follow-Up
For fleet clients in particular, we follow up to confirm the fix has held and flag anything else worth watching.

RT Field Services covers KwaZulu-Natal, with our main coverage stretching from Richards Bay in the north to Kokstad in the south, inland to Mooi River, and all of Durban metro as standard.
